G'day.

I love Tuesdays. It is my first day off each week. I work 3 1/2 days a week (in theory). Usually I go to the pool for a workout. I am not a good swimmer, so I walk, run, weight lift, etc in the water. Afterwards I feel exhausted. Over time I have started to feel much stronger, so as a workout it has been good for me.

Lunch out with friends, some grocery shopping, perhaps a bit of gardening.

Gardening: now that is one of my loves. At least, picking and eating what I have grown is one of the loves of my life. It is now spring. This week I have been watching the blossoms on the different trees in my garden. For the first time in nine years, two of my plum trees have flowered at the same time. This means that cross-pollination should be happening, and there should be some fruit. Wonderful. As well, the nectarine and apricot trees have once again produced prolific blossom, so I am hopeful that there will once again be a very good crop on these trees. Usually we produce enough fruit to keep eating it right through to the next season. Much is frozen (and given away), but last year I started to experiment with fruit drying (tomatoes too).

The thing that worries me is climate change: last year it was so hot in February that many of the plants were blackened. It was far too hot for them. If the heat hits after the fruit harvest season it won't be quite so bad. I am already trying to work out how to cope if the veggies need to be covered. Everything needs to be planted so they can be moved into shade if necessary. Lots of containers needed!

Anyway, enough for now.
